Chicago Hardy aka Hardy Chicago.

This is one of the most prolific figs to grow in cold areas of the northern U.S. The fall fruits grow on the new canes (stems) that grow during the summer.  This means that in cold areas the plant above the ground can die during the winter, but entirely regrow and fruit by the fall.  As an exampe,  4 new canes/stems can produce up to 150 figs.  Stem hardy to ten degrees F, root hardy to -20 degrees F. Hardiness Zones 5-9 it has become one of the most reliable varieties for cold climate growers.

Often referred to as a Mt. Etna type fig, it produces dark figs with very sweet red pulp. Medium size figs ripening in august into frost.
