Black Currant Consort is a nice fruiting hedge plant that produces clusters of medium-sized, flavorful berries which were traditionally used for prized and popular preserves. Rich in vitamin C, they are very healthful. This variety is immune to white pine blister rust. Attracting pollinators, this compact bush grows upright to 3-6 feet tall. They are self-fertile and tolerate partial-to-full sun and will tolerate shade. Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Harvest time is in June-July. Cold hardy to -40°. Zones 3-7.
